1982 – Present

As project manager, it is my duty to plan and manage all projects to meet facility programming needs and ensure all construction plans and documents are prepared in accordance with District guidelines and Florida Department of Education rules. During this process, I collaborate with governmental agencies regarding site acquisition, zoning, environmental considerations, project permitting, and interlocal agreements. I conduct preconstruction and post construction meetings to create a support network which allows the development of cost analysis, project scheduling and departmental procedures. I review drawings and supervise total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget and schedule. I participate in the development of educational for facilities to identify programmatic needs through input and coordination to reduce the overall facility operation cost. An accurate accounting of Florida inventory of school housing (FISH) documents and records is required. I ensure complete job cost breakdowns and schedule of values, review and approve all project billings, schedule and coordinate the completion of submittal data, obtain operation and maintenance manuals, shop drawings and as-built drawings in accordance with construction schedule. I conduct on site visits and inspections as required to ascertain the productivity of trades, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractors contractual performance on the project.

Community Development Planner for the Planning, Growth and School Capacity Department

Develop a plan to capitalize on the challenges of the growth in our community, establish a long-term plan collaborative process for optimizing the utilization of existing sites, facilities and acquiring land for future school sites. Worked closely with other municipalities to obtain entitlement and the necessary approvals to begin construction in a timely manner.
